The story behind our balcony sunshades

Shade and privacy are key to enjoying your balcony to the fullest – and with the right balcony sunshade, you can extend the season significantly. Since launching in 2013, Balcony Living Cph has offered custom-made balcony sunshades tailored to individual needs.

As demand grew for long-lasting, made-to-measure solutions, we saw the need for more production control. In autumn 2020, we established our own sewing studio, Shadecph, in Copenhagen – and have been crafting balcony screens in-house ever since.

At our studio in Copenhagen, our talented and experienced seamstress Kari is in charge of production. She’s the heart of Shadecph and helps ensure the high-quality standards we’re proud of at Balcony Living Cph.

Danish design – made in Denmark and the EU

Our balcony sunshades are sewn in close collaboration between the sewing studio and our customer service – ensuring that every detail, from measurements to fastenings and special requests, is perfectly captured in the final product.

Production takes place either at our studio in Copenhagen or with our trusted EU partner in Poland. We use fabric from Spain for all production – a durable, colourfast fabric of the highest quality. It comes with a 10-year warranty, though we often see it lasting even longer.
